At the 46th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Biomedical Engineering, Sept. 16th - 19th, in Jena, Mr. Abbas K. Abbas, M.Sc., DAAD fellow and doctoral student at the Philips Chair for Medical Information Technology, RWTH Aachen, won the first prize "Patient Safety in Medical Technology 2012". His award-winning work is titled "Increasing safety of preterm / full term infants based on infrared thermography respiration monitoring".
