Curriculum Vitae
I studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, with one exchange semester at the University of Aalborg, Denmark and an industrial internship at FESTO Esslingen. 2011, I finish my Dipl.-Ing. degree with the thesis “Event-based control for coupled systems”. From 2012 to 2013, I worked at ABB Automation GmbH (Mannheim, Germany) as a software developer. After that, I joined Medical Information Technology (MedIT) at RWTH Aachen University as a research associate and defended my dissertation “Model-based analysis of respiratory mechanics for diagnosis of cardiopulmonary diseases” which was evaluated by Prof. Steffen Leonhardt, Prof. Klaus Tenbrock, and assis. Prof. Franz de Jongh (https://publications.rwth-aachen.de/record/756521) in 2019. Currently, I am working as group leader of the Biomechanic Motion Group at MedIT with main focus on Gerontechnology, Motion Analysis, Wearales Sensors, Electrical Impedance Tomography, and Exoskeleton.
Research
Gerontechnology
Together with the Clinic for Geriatrics at the University Hospital (Director: Prof. Bollheimer), the Chair for Medical Information Technology runs the "Aachen Centre for Gerontotechnology". In the associated clinic for internal medicine and geriatrics was funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation at the Franziskushospital Aachen.
Main Research Activities of my Group:
Sensor and sensor networks:
- IPANEMA – The Body Sensor Network from MedIT Aachen
- Fusion of Electromyography and Electrical Impedance Myography
- Seated Exercise to walk in Balance
- Gait and activity analysis of Parkinson patients
Actuators and control:
- L²Exo-SE: Lower limb exoskeleton with serial elastic actuator
- L²Exo-PE: Lower limb exoskeleton with parallel elastic actuator
- Functional Electrical Stimulation for exoskeleton
- Feedback control of deep brain stimulation
Respiratory Mechnics and Electrical Impedance Tomography
- Lung Perfusion Monitoring with EIT
- Early detection of Breast Cancer with EIT and Radar
- Modelling and Identification of the respiratory system
- Lung function diagnostic with Electrical Impedance Tomography
